Rebit Inc., of Longmont, Colorado announced the closing of a $5.7M Series B round yesterday. Access Venture Partners, Grotech Ventures, Highway 12 Ventures, and at least one private investor participated in the round. Rebit is focused on making backup of PCs easier. The company’s backup up system, which is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, is simply plugged into the USB port of a computer and runs continuous backup with no need for user interaction. If a user does lose data or programs, recovery from the Rebit system is achieved through a simple drag and drop interface from Windows Explorer. The company has several products on the market with retail prices at the online store ranging from $49.95 for a CD containing software that enables the user to use the Rebit backup software on an external hard drive to $169.95 to $219.95 for systems that include the software and a Rebit storage device.
