OptTek Receives $100K to Develop Optimization Software for Missile Defense

Today, OptTek Systems, Inc announced that it has been awarded a $100K Phase I Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract to develop optimization methods and software for simulation modeling for missile defense. OptTek will use the proceeds of the award, given by the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA), to create a new methodology and tools called “OptDef” that enable optimization of Ballistic Missile Defense Systems. OptTek will draw on its substantial experience and proprietary technologies in simulation optimization and create a system that seamlessly integrates with MDA’s current simulation systems. Boulder, Colorado based OptTek has been developing optimization methods and software since 1992 for business problems involving substantial uncertainty and complexity. The company’s flagship product, OptQuest, is integrated into over 95% of simulation software currently sold.
