Silicon Flatirons, the entrepreneurial engine of CU Boulder and sponsor of such events as the Boulder Denver New Tech Meetup, Entrepreneurs Unplugged, the CU New Venture Challenge, and numerous other events and conferences, will be hosting an Entrepreneurial Mashup on Tuesday, April 14th as part of Entrepreneurship Week. While the evening is an opportunity to honor venture capitalist Brad Feld, TechStars Executive Director David Cohen, and three local startups-turned-success stories, the money raised will in part benefit Silicon Flatirons, allowing it the means to continue providing programming that serves as a critical bridge between the University and the technology community. Registration information can be found here.
Other features of Entrepreneurship Week include:
- Monday’s CU Technology Transfer Office luncheon, co-hosted with the Boulder Innovation Center
- Tuesday’s panel discussion on social entrepreneurship hosted by CU Boulder’s Social Entrepreneurship for Economic Development Group
- Wednesday offers a Feld-Weiser one on one (“Feld on The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem”) followed by an Entrepreneurs Unplugged spotlighting cable pioneer Glenn Jones.
- Thursday provides the conference “Putting the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Perspective,” featuring Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, academic luminaries Karl Ulrich and AnnaLee Saxenian, and a bevy of local entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and legal experts.
- Friday caps off the week with the finals of the CU New Venture Challenge, where the University-wide business plan contest will end with the top teams being awarded over $10,000 in prize money.
