TapTap Cards, a new Fort Collins based company, launched its service this month that allows users to turn digital photos into personalized postcards. Users access TapTap Cards via an iPhone application or at taptapcards.com, upload any saved photo, and add up to a 450 character personal message and the recipient’s address. Once complete, for $1.99 TapTap Cards will manufacture the postcard in a print shop in Colorado and mail it to anywhere in the United States. Each card, created at a 100% wind powered facility, is printed on post-consumer recycled cover stock and treated with a glossy UV coating to ensure durability during transit and prevent fading. CEO Tim Hampton calls the service “a fast and exciting way of staying connected with friends and family, but with a personal touch.” The company has plans to expand shipping internationally and provide additional features. Colorado technologists got a preview of the service back in February when Hampton presented at the Boulder Denver New Tech Meetup.
