High Order Bit Brings Software Tracking to the iPhone

If software developers around the country are anything like the sample observed at a recent Boulder Denver New Tech Meetup, the iPhone is this year’s must have accessory among the IT crowd. Startup High Order Bit is trying to capitalize on this affinity through the sale of apps that bring popular software tracking tools to the Apple device. The company’s latest release is Code Watch which provides an iPhone client for software tracking site GitHub. Through the app, developers are able to interact with most of GitHub’s functionality, including tracking of files that have changed in repositories, viewing their private news feed, and setting up favorites. The full version of the app sells for $2.99 while a free version called Code Watch Open Source is available for open source developers. The company also sells the Build Watch app for $0.99 which offers an iPhone interface for project tracking with continuous interface servers such as CruiseControl and Hudson. In commenting on what to expect from the High Order Bit in the near future, co-founder Doug Kurth comments the company is focused on “smaller products” to help “achieve steady growth.” Among these projects “is an iPhone issue tracking app compatible with Lighthouse.” The company, founded in 2009, is based in Boulder, Colorado.
