The third week of June has only a few notable events, yet those that are on the calendar are worth attention. On Tuesday is the Passing of the Baton Ceremony at Silicon Flatirons, an event that pays tribute to Professor Phil Weiser before he heads out to work in the Obama Justice Department. Weiser founded Silicon Flatirons as a resource to jumpstart the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the University of Colorado and connect the University to the local technology scene. Over the years this program has hosted over a hundred free events and has been the catalyst for students to embrace the startup culture. Everyone strives to make a difference, and this person has. The ceremony will also welcome the new leadership of the program, Dale Hatfield, who will serve as Executive Director while Weiser is in Washington. Also this week is Boulder Denver New Tech Meetup (Denver), a Biobeers in Boulder, a CBSA Biobreakfast in Aurora, and a Startup Junkie in Westminster.
