Tendril Inks Agreement with GE

Tendril and GE Consumer & Industrial announced today that they have signed a joint development agreement to enhance the capabilities of GE’s demand response appliances in communicating with metering and broadband networks. The partnership seeks to create integrated and interoperable systems for GE appliances drawing on the Tendril Residential Energy Ecosysystem (TREE). TREE is the first integrated software and hardware solution to allow two-way communication between utilities and customers enabling better energy management. Recent studies have shown that appliances, lighting and water heating account for 51% of home electricity usage, making each an important part of energy management outside of HVAC systems. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Tendril completed a $30M Series C round in June.
