OSI Pharmaceuticals announced that it will close its Boulder facility as part of a plan to consolidate all its US operations to a single campus located in Ardsley, a community located in Westchester County, New York. The 150 person Boulder facility was originally acquired by OSI in 2001 via purchase from Gilead Sciences, which had previously acquired it from successful Boulder startup NeXstar Pharmaceuticals. OSI facilities in Melville and Farmingdale, New York, and Cedar Knolls, New Jersey will also be closed. The company reports that it expects the consolidation efforts to be completed by the end of year and generate $15M in “yearly operating synergies.” The company will receive incentives from the state of the New York for the move and may receive additional growth-dependent incentives over the next five years.
