#NameCO: The Cream Shall Rise

The effort to replace the current designation for Colorado’s technology scene – Colorado ICT Sector – with a name sourced from the community took a major step forward over the last three weeks as over one hundred suggestions were submitted. Ranging from the humorous (Blue Mustang) to references of terrain and other map markers, the scope of ideas captures different aspects of our community and IT capabilities.

We now need your help in narrowing the list to a manageable ballot. We’ve placed each of the submissions (minus a few redundancies) on uservoice.com, a crowd-sourcing site that allows each visitor to cast ten votes, with a maximum of three applied to any one name. Users can vote anonymously by going here, but we suggest you sign in here, as this will allow you to comment on the various suggestions. We know we can rely on everyone’s honor to only cast the allotted ten votes.

Voting will be open for one week, after which time the half dozen names (or so) that will appear on the final ballot will be announced at the Boulder Denver New Tech Meetup (Boulder) on August 4th. Thank you in advance for your participation.
