Potential Partner Moves Forward in Efforts to License Ceragenix Technology

Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc announced that MAST BioSurgery has decided to invoke its right to a 60 day period of exclusivity to negotiate rights to use Ceragenix’s CeraShield™ antimicrobial technology in one or more medical devices in an unspecified field of use. In May, Ceragenix and MAST entered into a cooperative research and development agreement allowing MAST to evaluate CeraShield, a coating containing CSA-13, a small molecule mimic of an anti-microbial peptide that has shown broad spectrum activity against bacteria. This technology has many potential applications on a variety of medical devices that frequently cause infection. Based in Denver, Ceragenix is focused on developing products for infectious disease and dermatology. MAST is based in Switzerland with US headquarters in San Diego and produces a variety of products to support tissue healing.
