Quertle LLC today announced the release of version 2.0 of its free medical literature search engine available at quertle.info. Quertle uses advanced semantics optimized for scientific literature to enable users to more easily find relevant results. The new release features full-text content from over 60,000 articles published in over 200 journals available at Biomed Central in addition to the titles and abstracts previously available. The search engine has also added new power terms, terms which allow users to search for the members of the class that have a particular cause or effect (e.g. – protein could be used as a power term in this search: $Proteins regulate apoptosis). The release also features an overhaul of the site interface and design and an enhancement of sorting options.
