BiOptix Named Top Innovator at New England Venture Summit

BiOptix, which has developed a highly sensitive biosensor, has been selected as a winner of the New England Venture Summit Top Innovator award by youngStartup Ventures. The award recognizes privately held companies that are leading innovators in life sciences and clean tech. This award gives BiOptix CEO Rick Whitcomb the opportunity to present at the 2009 New England Venture Summit taking place today. Since raising a $3M round in early March, BiOptix, based in Boulder, Colorado, has made significant progress. Whitcomb comments, “the team has commercialized our science and we are now launching our pilot instrument into selected markets.” The company’s technology has broad potential applicability across many markets including biomolecular research, drug discovery, and diagnostics.
